Shipping is finally done!!

Shipping and shopping is finally done! Today we mostly just had inservice. I have learned alot about the students in the village and some of the characteristics of Yupik people. Everyone is very very encouraging and helpful. All day tomorrow is just inservice so my roommate and I are just resting up for all the meetings we have tomorrow. The inservice has been wonderful, the hotel has catered all of our food for us and it has been wonderful :) I couldnt ask for better new teacher inservice they are soo helpful and encouraging. My roommate and I are going to pick up our cats on Wednesday on the way to the 19 seater plane to go to Pilot Station for a day and a half then we will head to Kotlik! Then the fun begins with unpacking and storing all of our food.

Shopping Day

We finally made it to Anchorage. Today was shopping day. My roommate Heather and I hit up Costco and spent just over $1,000 on A TON of groceries, hopefully enough for the whole year. Then we went to Walmart and bought the kittens some cat litter and food. It has been a blast exploring Anchorage and now we just have to ship all the groceries that we bought! Just about 4 more days till we get to Kotlik. We found out today that our duplex wasnt made the best one room is 87 sq ft and the other one is 300!!! I let Heather have the big one we are going to use part of her room for storage. Headed off to ship groceries!!!

Well the bags are all packed and barley zip. So the plane leaves at 10:18 tomorrow and gets to Anchorage about 15 hours later! Thanks for all of your prayers and encouragment. I will be sure to keep everyone posted. Pics to come tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!11
